Jelly Bean Yellow Monkey Flower

Common name:Jelly Bean Yellow Monkey Flower
Botanical name:Mimulus 'Jelly Bean Yellow'

This Mimulus hybrid is characterized by its unusually large, yellow flowers that overpower every other feature of the plant. As with all other dry Mimulus species, it requires well drained soil with very infrequent summer water. In many gardens, it will be treated as an annual. Foliage will grow to 18" high and 18" wide. It should be pruned in the summer to promote growth for the following year.

California Sycamore

Common name:California Sycamore
Botanical name:Platanus racemosa

The California Sycamore is a fast growing deciduous tree that reaches up to 40'-50' high. It tolerates heat, smog, and drought conditions as well as moist conditions; it is native to riparian areas. It has interesting mottled bark when the tree is bare in winter.

Mediterranean Fan palm

Common name:Mediterranean Fan palm
Botanical name:Chamaerops humilis

Slow growing to 20' tall but very hardy, the Mediterranean Fan palm is clump forming with rich green foliage. It can be used as a good container subject. It does best in full sun or partial shade. Petioles have sharp spines.

Pumpkin Monkey Flower

Common name:Pumpkin Monkey Flower
Botanical name:Mimulus 'Pumpkin'

Mimulus 'Pumpkin' is one of the best performing and 'garden tolerant' of the dry Mimulus species/hybrids. Although it still requires well drained soil and drier conditions in most environments, it stays evergreen and can bloom through the year with supplemental summer water when other varieties will die. It reaches 18"-24" tall and 18"-24" wide and blooms profusely with two toned, pumpkin orange flowers. It is truly stunning and effective in the garden, especially in mass.

The Magic of Mulch

In the natural world the endless cycle of birth, growth, decay, death and rebirth flows throughout the seasons. Plants die, leaves fall and new growth springs up in its place. Nothing is lost and the fallen leaves and dead plants decay into the soil, enriching it for the next generation of growth.
