Paprika Red Common Yarrow

Common name:Paprika Red Common Yarrow
Botanical name:Achillea millefolium 'Paprika'

Highlighting this perennial are spreading mats of fern-like rosettes, along with deeply divided leaves of a green or grey green color. In this form, the flowers are usually a white to pale pink tone. The yarrow propagate easily from rooted cuttings or division, which should be performed in the early spring or fall. Following bloom, one should dead head the plant and divide the clumps when it appears crowded.

Globe Mallow Louis Hamilton

Common name:Globe Mallow Louis Hamilton
Botanical name:Sphaeralcea ambigua 'Louis Hamilton'

This perennial will grow 4' x 3' . It has small, leathery gray leaves with rich, red-orange flowers that bloom in the spring.

Crape Myrtle

Common name:Crape Myrtle
Botanical name:Lagerstroemia indica

The new leaves of this species are 2" long, bright green, and tinged with bronze. Some cultivars have spectacular fall color. When it has a bare outline, its rounded seed capsules add interest. Its delicate flowers bloom in 6"-12" long clusters. The flower colors could be shades of red, rose, pink, purple, and white, blooming in summer. It thrives on heat, and new cultivars have been created that resist mildew. This tree prefers full sun and has low watering needs once it's established.

Centennial Mountain Lilac

Common name:Centennial Mountain Lilac
Botanical name:Ceanothus 'Centennial'

The hybrid Ceanothus makes a perfect ground cover, with a profuse flowering of shiny dark green leaves which are almost hidden by very dark blue, delicate flower clusters. It is a heat resistant cultivar and looks the best with one summer pruning. Be cautious about providing plant with excess water.
