This slow-growing tree has leaves that vary from bluish gray to green and has round, yellow to orange fruit that is edible and delicious. Arching leaves spread 10'-15' wide; palm can reach 20' tall.

This succulent perennial will only grow 1' tall and 1' wide. It has large, sharp, dark green leaves and clusters of red-orange flowers that bloom in summer.

Mexican Gold Poppy is similar to the California Poppy, but smaller. It has upward-facing, four petaled orange blooms. It grows to 8" high. It is considered drought tolerant but extra summer water will extend the flowering season.

Standing 40' tall, bright green foliage highlights this tree. Ideal for planting on golf courses or near the coast, the Monterey Cypress spreads with age to shed its narrow and pyramidal structure of youth. It grows best in coastal habitats where it is not exposed to extreme heat or humidity.

This upright, spreading evergreen tree is fast growing and can reach heights of 40'-65' and widths of 20'-30'. It has a feathery and open character. It is drought resistant ; it does well in full sun and reflected heat. It is tolerant of salt spray and wet areas (but can be invasive in wet areas). It does not like clay soils or hard frost. This tree can compete with other plants and can become invasive.

This palm has a very straight trunk to about 50' in height. It has arching, feathery, bright green, glossy leaves that can be 10'-15' long. It is fragile in heavy winds and a fast grower. It will become damaged in temperature below 24 degrees F.

Botanical name:Nolina recurvata
This palm-like shrub from the Agave family has a single trunk and grows up to 30' tall. It has thin flat leaves that can grow up to 6' long and only 1" wide. The base is large and distinctive; it usually looks swollen. Mature plants may bloom on a 3'-4' tall stalk.
The natural world works in cycles. Everything is changing form and moving from place to place in an endless energy exchange system. The leaves and twigs that fall to the ground, not to mention other life forms that might die, decompose and combine with water, air and minerals of the soil to create a medium for future plants.
